The German Society of Pennsylvania will present Elissa Lee Koljonen, violin, and Natalie Zhu, piano, in concert on Sunday, February 7 at 3:00 pm, in the Society’s auditorium, 611 Spring Garden Street, Philadelphia. These two young and truly brilliant artists will be returning to the Society this year. Elissa received international acclaim when she became the first recipient of the prestigious Henryk Szeryng Foundation Award. Natalie began her piano studies at age six in her native China. At eleven she emigrated to the USA, and by fifteen was a student at Curtis where she received the Rachmaninoff Award.
Their program, Romances and Fantasies: In Loving Memory of John Albert Koljonen is dedicated to the memory of Elissa’s late father, and will feature Romantic compositions for the Valentine’s Day holiday. Selections include:
